After studying Knitwear Design at FIT in New York City and interning with houses like Proenza Schouler and Tory Burch, Mari Medina began her career in corporate fashion. Over time, Medina grew disillusioned with the industry's focus on speed and scale — and the growing disconnect between brands and the artisans behind the work.

She returned to FIT to earn a certificate in Sustainable Business, laying the foundation for a new kind of design practice — one rooted in quality, connection, and care.

Today, she partners with brands who value craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and responsible production. Through April Knit Studio, clients gain access to a global, trusted network of mills, manufacturers, and artisans — an ecosystem built over a decade of collaboration.
